I’m generally the same way. If I made a contribution, there is either a bug that is annoying the shit out of me, or it’s actually preventing progress at my job somehow. Which means I pretty much only make drive-by contributions.

That said, there is a benefit to this from a human perspective. The drive-by fixes from people like me should improve over time as we do more of them. The same can not be said about a bot.

Tomahawk is just one weapon system. It isn’t even our only cruise missile system. JASSM, LRASM, Harpoon, and SLAM are all in-service cruise missiles used by the US. And those are just off the top of my head.

If you want to get into one-way attack drones (ie, cheap cruise missiles), we have things like LUCAS as well.

E10 is still offered.

Any car made after 2010 handles E15 just fine. It’s cheaper than E10 and has lower carbon emissions. I pretty much only fill up with E15 due to the lower prices.

Cars made after 2010 work well with E15. And many cars handle E85 as well. For E100 specifically, not sure.

Even just the E15 here is $0.30 cheaper than the E10. I have even seen it drop to $0.50 cheaper from time to time.

This actually opens up an opportunity for law firms who want to mentor lawyers all the way up from new-grad. As they will not experience the lawyer shortage as they-themselves trained them. You can even reach into the pre-grad pool by giving paid internships, then giving interns you like offer letters contingent on them graduating/passing the Bar the following year.

Entry-level hires are a net resource drain on a company. It takes significant time from another experienced employee to bring the entry-level hire up to speed. That net resource drain can last months or even a year+ depending on how specialized the knowledge is. The entry-level hire should become a mid-level employee after that, but the AI just never does.

What happens 10 years from now, when AI hasn’t measurably improved, but now all the humans who would have moved into those mid-level jobs aren’t there to do it?

They certainly hit harder after 10 years too! Even worse if a notable percentage of entry-level hires are outsourcing their thinking and aren’t learning/improving.
