I will never understand how we can push the second amendment so hard, and then use having a gun as an excuse to kill civilians. Furthermore, I will never understand how the 2A crowd will then also use that excuse as a justifiable reason for someone to be killed by law enforcement.

I can only speak for me, but I’m happy to keep making the state replace expensive cameras. More time focused replacing them means less new ones, and less uptime.

I just had a very similar conversation last night with some family and friends. There was a time when I would ignore shitty people’s opinions… After all, neither of us will change each other’s minds. Honestly, I think you’re simply adding to the point being made. There’s places guns aren’t allowed that are super common in every city, and someone still got shot there? This will only lead to more places having gun bans (since we won’t actually do anything meaningful for gun control)… meaning more places that criminals are the only ones carrying guns around shooting people.
… That’s just common sense though.

Here’s my understanding, though I could have missed something while trying to navigate the law. In order for Trump to be able to pull this with the national guard, he needs the consent and authorization of the Governor. He would never get this from blue states, so I imagine the goal is to have red states hand him free power, then target the blue areas within that state. Once we’ve normalized it a bit, it’s easier to force it on the remaining states.
