You’re making tons of assumptions and then holding those assumptions as the same as fact. I’ve known a few friends and family that have gone to the military, and I say this with love to those people, they were all dumb. They all now regret having served, or at least regret having served in order to attain the benefits they now gain for having sold themselves to the US, and only one of them (of say maybe 8) has learned anything about the history of the US or the symbols often used throughout.

What ‘tells you’ he knew? Where is the ‘clearly into Nazi history’ coming from? What part of the US schooling covered the various nazi symbols? Because none of those were something I’d have recognized as anything other than ‘military, Fuck Yeah!’ tattoos as a 20 year old.

I think that, if your goal was ultimately to further the conversation (in it’s format, I don’t see anything wrong with what you initially wrote), adding examples of what you mean by recent interactions pointing towards the user base being more skewed towards teenagers. That might have deterred anyone who was unsure of whether you were being genuine or just bashing on the next generation the way we’ve seen historically.

Your comment didn’t seem to ring with the community, that could be because they’re of the age group you’re citing as the group supportive of this shitty behavior (distracted driving), or it could be because the base of your stance didn’t root itself in examples they could identify with and so they downvoted an opinion they disagreed with.

I’d say the most likely reason people downvote is because they disagree, I wouldn’t have much knowledge on their age though so I won’t make claims on that part.

I don’t think the people downvoting know that there’s really people out here putting American craft singles slices on their spaghetti. I should know, I’m related to a couple of them. Seen it a good chunk of my life, almost always in poorer homes, from the southern US and a few times here in the midwest.

Not silly, that’s a common cleaning technique from janitor/cleaning staff i was told a while back. Use a little bit of what causes the stain/gunk and it helps break down the bonds by binding with the already-solidified object and trying to mix with it, weakening/changing the concentration of the ‘stuck’ substance

Not a single person in this thread is praising Hamas, no one is advocating for the death of civilians, or celebrating it. But they are calling out dehumanizing behavior, like personally signing (with a cute message no less) bombs that may or may not be dropped on civilians. Historically speaking, like, within the last week even, we can assume some of those bombs were dropped on designated safe zones.
