Let Pele take him.
Let Pele take him.

Jesus spent lots of time with prostitutes.

Or we could demand that our horrible system be dismantled and rebuilt without financial parasites, the perpetrators fined, bankrupted, and jailed, and the victims fully compensated for their losses.
That would definitely be more effective than charity.

These are exactly the times when such people rise. Support one. Be one.
Kat Abugazaleh just ran one of the best campaigns in American history. She did it with hardly any connections or personal wealth. She started up a mutual aid office. She changed the narrative. She was beaten only by a concerted effort by AIPAC. She set a model for how ordinary people can push change. Graham Plattner is attempting to do the same in Maine. He also has a pretty good shot.
Look, if you don’t like the idea, it ain’t for you. I was just trying to encourage you by throwing whatever ideas against the wall to see what sticks.

Things seem to be changing around that sort of thing. And I wasn’t suggesting high office. Like, any office. But I also suggested working for a campaign, getting behind someone decent who might run in your area.

Have you considered running for office, or working for someone who is?

Agreed. Right now I’m just trying to keep this one person alive though.

Trouble is, ain’t nobody gonna listen to anybody talking like that.

The only action of yours we can see is your attempt to discourage others who are in fact doing something. Put up or shut up.

First step is just to outlive Trump. You want to live long enough to see that worthless piece of shit in the ground. It shouldn’t take too long. Then pick the next piece of shit to outlive. Spite is useful.

Nah, they are nowhere near as good as the movies, nor are the villains all that smart.

That’s neat. I wonder how cheap a drone could be made to destroy them?
We perfected building a near peer military with Russia in mind. We build massive fleets of wildly expensive machines and great arsenals of similarly expensive ammunition. We made almost all of that shit overwhelmingly dependent on the supply chain of a flammable, nonrenewable, black fluid easily controllable by the nation we just attacked. One which has taken seriously the new lesson that such militaries are obsolete and top heavy. The way forward lies in small, cheap, autonomous suicide drones, cyber attacks, propaganda, and economic pressure. They’re one of the few countries to take that lesson to heart. We have recently decapitated the competence of nearly every powerful system of our nation; political and military, and pushed our economy to the brink. We are led by hyper-overconfident, insecure, malicious idiots supported only by a cult minority of our population.
Not quite perfect is right. The rest of the world should bind together to pressure us, hard.

I mean, it won’t be long before we are utterly defenseless.

Why are we paying rent at all?

I’m not normal, no. I can’t say I’m doing great. But I’m actually far more stable now than I’ve ever been. I’m preparing for bad times to help others as best I can. I’m not ready enough. I protest when I can. I try to read older books rather than the latest clickbait. My work actually matters, so I don’t feel drained from it. I mostly quit arguing with idiots, online and off. They’ll feel the pain soon enough. Good. I do mock them to their faces. If they change, I might help them. If it gets as bad as I’ve always suspected it will, I’ve already lived longer and better than anticipated. I’ve never feared oblivion. Sounds nice these days. If I die, I’ll die fighting the darkness. I’m content. Let them come. Good people will still live on. If we let the fools and psychos in power destroy our entire biosphere, well then we will have proved Humanity never deserved the stars in the first place.
If we make it, keep pushing humanity forward. We are all one people and we are worth the struggle. We are the only known intelligence in the Universe and we must learn to act like it, or die. Don’t let us down.
So that’s how I’m doing.

Crap, that’s actually a good argument against the death penalty for corrupt politicians and the filthy rich as well.

I started with a Steam Deck. Now I’m running PopOS on my Framework 13 and Bazzite on a home theatre PC. I’ve had far fewer issues with them than any flavor of Windows.
I can’t go back. I won’t.
No don’t kill him first.
