The news on this has been underplaying how bad this bill is. It requires ISPs to inspect traffic to ensure its no porn, meaning they would have to be able to decrypt the traffic. This makes a single point were hackers can access credit card data, personal information, and anything else you don’t want to share with the world. This assumes the ISPs are willing to front the compute cost of decrypting then re-encrypting and not just banning encrypted traffic because its the easy and cheap way.

I really think we are making people work to hard to make good enough passwords and that is how we get people making shitty passwords. And then we ask them to repeat this process every three months, and because getting a password reset is a pain in the ass they right “FuckTh15Pl@ce” on a sticky note under there keyboard (I found that one under a VP’s keyboard).

If we were doing passwords right it would be 12 characters, three character types, last until you leave the company or there is an incident. Also, by not requiring people to change the password every so often it one less thing for the IT Auditor to crab about.

I too watched some clips after his murder. He reminded me of the mentally resident I had when I worked at a group home. The resident thought he was sent by god to save humanity and that we were keeping him from fulfilling his holly mission.

My theory is that this is a play by the right to try an undermine anecdotal evidence and accounts used to persuade people. About a decade ago, the left tried to use data driven arguments while the right use anecdotal evidence, and studies have shown anecdotal evidence to be more persuasive. Now, the left has learned from its mistakes and is using anecdotal evidence and accounts, and it is proving to be effective in undermining the right.

Instead of pointing out the hypocrisy of Christians saying empathy is bad, because it doesn’t work, the left should lean into this narrative. Empathy is a way people will exploit you, data driven studies are the only thing you can rely on. Then fallow that up with explaining how to know if you can trust a data source.

If the left and use the rights own strategy against them instead of trying to fight against the strategy, it will be much more effective. They may be able to start realizing that global warming is real, and racism still exist in this country.

Maybe I am an odd duck, but when I have been the guy looking at resumes and shit, I made a note not to read peoples email addresses. I don’t care if your email is cumdumpster19 I care if you know how to configure a firewall. But I think most people look for reason to round file a resume and not reasons to say yes to an applicant.
