59·1 year agoFor what it’s worth, Hezbollah has 13 of 128 seats in Lebanon’s parliament, and the CIA World Factbook says about a third of Lebanese are Christian, so I’m going to disagree with your characterization.
Hamas hasn’t held elections in nearly 20 years, so I’m going to disagree with you again. Israel’s accelerated genocide may have galvanized support for Hamas recently, but I haven’t looked into that.

Instead, they are willing to back conditions that military aid not be used to further Israel’s occupation of Palestinians. Stop trying to get people to confuse Jews and Zionists. Huge numbers of Jews have perfectly functioning moral compasses (probably about as many as average Americans) and don’t need to be conflated with Israeli instigators.
Its possible these numbers have shifted recently, as Israel works hard to scare Americans into fleeing to join their settler colonialism project.
Yup, I pasted it in the threads I came across that had poor OP articles. I could have written something unique but… exactly the same message was intended, and I didn’t want to leave any of their biased, popular posts without a response.
The only stories about this I’ve seen on Lemmy take a very pro-Israel perspective. Have the Israelis started doing to Lemmy what they’ve done to Reddit?
NBC’s coverage, as an alternative, says this immediately after it’s opening statement:

…which clarifies that the attack was the people of Europe showing that unlike their governments, they do not tolerate genocidal apartheid supporters.

That’s fine, but I think you’ll be able to reach/influence more people with intentional source selection.
In this example, if Iran claims the UN said that, I’d still go and confirm it (which I did). If Al Jazeera or Reuters says he said it, I don’t feel the need to double check; I know they won’t flat out lie. Someone lazier than I was here might just remember this story as a “maybe” if they didn’t bother checking the source themselves.
Then use Al Jazeera. But if Trump Media tells me it’s rainy in the Pacific Northwest I’m going to have doubts, and if Iran says Israel’s doing Israel things… I’m going to have doubts.
While there’s nothing about the story that’s hard to believe given Israel’s love for genocide and harming anyone who cares about the humanity of Palestinians, can we get a source that isn’t literally Iran?

You’re correct that the US has adopted a terrible definition of antisemitism that conflates the state of Israel and the actions of its genocidal apartheid government with Judaism.
Someone recently shared the Jerusalem Declaration on Antisemitism with me, which I find to be a much more reasonable definition of antisemitism.
