Sounds like people are discovering that dictators mistrust their own supporters as much if not more than their political dissidents

I’ve had a few miracle burgers. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either. It just kind of tasted like a mediocre fast food hamburger. I don’t eat burgers that often anymore so when I do have one I want it to be really good so I probably won’t get another one unless there’s some great innovation in plant based meat in the future.

I suppose it accomplishes its goal in that it does taste like a hamburger, just not a particularly great one

I kinda feel like the name is part of the problem there. If someone says they’re serving me something called a “miracle” burger the expectation created is that it will taste exceptionally good, or at least better than average

I can’t fathom the idea of a multi billion dollar corporation having an employee arrested over $110 worth of fruit cups and chicken. It’s not like he was the mastermind behind an embezzlement scam or anything. Just fire the kid and take the $110 out of his last check.

Aside from it just being a shitty thing to do I would think the terrible PR from such a thing would be enough for them to not want to cause a whole scandal about it.

The smug look on that managers face makes the whole thing 100 times more disgusting.

Edit: it appears that this manager knew about the small thefts for months and never once gave the employee any type of warning or corrective action. They actually watched him and waited over multiple months for these minor incidents to FINALLY add up to over $100 so that they could have him arrested. Apparently they cannot involve law enforcement until the theft reaches a certain amount.

Libertarians are an odd bunch these days. They claim to be against “big government” but they want to privatize everything which would essentially make giant corporations into a new authoritarian government.

The love to talk about being able to take your business elsewhere if you don’t like the service your getting, but that doesn’t do a lot of good if your house burns down because you were behind on your fire protection plan and no one will come to put it out.

It’s called “Alarm Clock Xtreme & Timer” but I do use it on android

I had to download an app on my phone where I can set multiple alarms for this exact reason! The first one goes off at 8am, then another one plays every half hour until I get up. It has an “extreme” setting for heavier sleepers where it keeps getting louder until you solve a math equation to turn it off again, but I only use that for special occasions lol

Every once in a while the cable company where I lived would unscramble it at random times, and it always felt like Christmas came early lol

When I’m feeling really down I have to either build something or fix something. It’s really the only way I’ll start to feel better. Somehow building models or working on cross stitch or taking apart an appliance to find out why it doesn’t work makes everything feel kind of “normal” again.

Because it didn’t make financial sense for them to buy it. The last I read up on the matter it seemed like Musk has lost quite a bit of money on it since he took over. Literally the ONLY reason Musk bought it was because he got into a pissing contest with the previous owners after he claimed he could run it better. He actually tried to back out of the deal a number of times but there was some kind of legal reason he was obligated to buy it after he made an offer
