  • I’m venturing a huge leap of a guess here, but my first thoughts were either:

    • Leaping from the deck of a huge ship into the ocean imperfectly is kinda like hitting concrete. Water is not “soft” when you’re jumping from a ship deck several stories up and don’t “pencil dive” just right.

    • Being on the deck of a ship suffering a catastrophic explosion below, strong enough to rupture the upper decks and “send the helipad flying meters high”, would force the surface many sailors were standing on upwards, far too quickly and unexpectedly for their legs to brace.

  • Have I been on 10 years? I dunno, but I like to think I’m pretty experienced for an amateur.

OpenSUSE Tumbleweed! It rolls! It games! It works with newer hardware and gets along sorta reasonably with Nvidia!

Best part? If any of that ISN’T true (rarely after an update), it seamlessly integrates BTRFS snapshots with the boot menu, to just roll back and wait like a week til the wonderful souls working on it, fix stuff.

The community is also very supportive.

  • Gosh, damn. Exact same story here too. If we could just go back and tell them, right?

My dad was upset and panicked “Every time Obama opens his mouth we’ve lost more money!”

I didn’t get how any of this worked back then. I still don’t completely but I was just a kid. I wish I could have just convinced him to chill and wait it out. (And I knew enough to tell him to turn off the “24/7 screaming heads channel” but was unsuccessful…)

The upheaval that followed was not a positive life experience…

So freaking sad reliving all of this again and seeing people either haven’t learned to not panic-pull or are just that terribly desperate.

Weirdly, with my meager means, I’m trying to figure out where to put money in… y’know just in case this thing starts working again like it’s turned around in the past…
