Imported US culture (movies, TV etc) has successfully planted the idea in a lot of people that teenagers under 18 are “essentially the same as little children”. So no one cares about technicalities.

The issue here is that most countries define the age of consent differently. I think we can agree that when a 16 year old agrees to sexual contact with another 16 year old, the dynamic is different than if they agree to it with a 40 year old. Absolutely. But that does not mean that the 16 year old doesnt understand what they are doing.

I can assure you that the judiciary system in my country does work. It’s just that these people either a. just want to beat someone up and need an excuse, or b. don’t agree with our laws and think it should be prison time for a 18 year old who wants to date a 16 year old, or a 21 year old who wants to date a 17 year old.

They lump far more people into the same group. They attack anyone whom they think they can, even if they know that their accusations are BS.

Just happened here in Austria. Police took 20 people into custody (13 have since been formally arrested) for luring people to fake dates where they beat them up.
The suspects said they hunted pedophiles, but at least in some of the cases they targeted young adults who expected to come to a date with 16-18 year olds.

Especially the part about his wife. Sounds very much like espionage to me.
There is the “new comments” sort which makes it sort chronological by the time of the last comment under a post
You mean like a list of all communities named “books” or “books…”? And then you could choose to visit individual communities by clicking on them?
I love the NewComments sort btw, to find and engage in ongoing discussions in threads that sometimes span weeks
The problem here is that a community news@connecticut.social will have a completely different topic than news@mmorpg.net . In some cases the same name means same topic, in some cases not.

How exactly does it work wonders? It never shows up in the feeds of people
I take it this is the “backported” update with important fixes that came up while you were working on 1.0?
Thanks a lot for all of your work! :)

Sucks for you if your only interest is sailing.
No, for real: I have subscribed to over 100 communities and my “subscribed” feed is always full of stuff.

I mean, the basic answer to that question is because server storage costs something and the people offering these services/websites either don’t want to make a loss or straight up want to make a profit.
PDF editing truly sucks, 100% agree with you on that

Well yeah, Spotify was invented in Sweden, home of Pirate Bay and the Pirate Party. To cite one article about the service: “Developed to bridge the gap between illegal file sharing innovation and a behind-the-times record industry, Spotify is conducting a delicate balancing act.”
IT sector probably is a lot different in hiring practices than some typical management jobs
That probably depends more on what is before the @. Is your mailadress a gamertag or some random thing you came up with as a teen? “Superbunny69” probably has a lower chance of success than “lastn.firstname”

Tbh I’m parroting what others have told me, I’ not sure which clients do that
Point number 1 for sure.
Favoriting/liking is especially a good thing to do with photo posts, as pixelfed emphasizes likes over boosts and I think a lot of photographers and artists appreciate likes more than your average poster.
I didn’t know that favourites factor into the trending algorithm. Good to know.
