This is exactly my setup. Tell me a little about Stremio if you don’t mind. I feel thick, but I dont quite get what it is.

I’m sure you mentioned this in the past, but any plans for E2EE?

+1 just for using “narc”. Which by the way, reminds me every time, of the arcade game of the same name. Loved that game. 🚀
Exactly the same here. Works great.
Same. I haven’t found a decent TB/BB replacement yet though. Sad.
BetterBird for desktop. FairEmail for mobile.
Heard about this on Linux Unplugged a few weeks back. Haven’t had a chance to test it out yet, but it looks pretty cool.

From quick research, it certainly seems to be the preferred alternative. It’s been around for quite awhile and look to have a legit business model. I also found an open source app that looks decent.

I feel ya. It’s crazy easy. I was surprised. Then, just wardrive. 😊

Fwiw: I’ve been using a Verizon locked one without ever activating the sim. It works just fine as a Rayhunter. It just doesn’t work as a hotspot.

I’ve been happily using mLauncher. It’s about as minimal as they come. I’ve got zero on my screens. https://github.com/DroidWorksStudio/mLauncher
Robosats used to have gift cards as an option. Not sure anymore. It’s been awhile.
I’m not expecting much. I just wish it would work consistently. I don’t know how many times it’s just decided to crash or turn off or fail to wake. It’s never even been reliable as a simple watch like what you mention. At least not for me. But, it’s been fun to play with for a small fee.

Good info! Thanks.

FWIW, it says you can opt out of this in the settings. It’s sort of crappy you have to go digging to find this. There should be a disclaimer. Thanks for pointing it out.
Time to pull the old PineTime out from under the bed and throw it on the charger. Probably still won’t be usable, but always fun to try new firmware. Thanks for the heads up!
I use 2FAS because Aegis isn’t available for iOS. :) It’s more maintained than Tofu and is more feature rich. My main gripe is the backup format. It’s unnecessarily complicated. Not a deal breaker, but close.

Great podcast and an accompanying great Matrix room(s).
Thank you for the informative and detailed explanation!! I very much appreciate it. I think I might dive in and play with it.
