Yeah, keep contributing to their algorithm, that’ll really show them! “Stop using YouTube” is the only way to do anything about it, and people won’t
6·7 months agoThe fact that you recognise it would be a struggle should honestly spur you on even more to do it. People got by for a long time without the Internet and even though now the same infrastructure they’d have used is at best a shell of its former self if not gone entirely it would still be possible. We don’t have to stop entirely but if a bunch of sites suddenly find their traffic is way down they’d start to put pressure on about getting rid of ID checks and we might finally see some movement
Same. I know there are easy ways around it but I’m not going to use them, and I wish more people could take this attitude - if everyone cut down their Internet usage in response to this ID stuff things would quickly start to turn around
10·8 months agoNah, I think I’ll use the opportunity to get away from it outright. And really if more people did do that youtube would roll it back pretty quickly
If I get ID’d to watch youtube that would just encourage me to not use youtube anymore

Jumping on board got her a political career, she made some serious cash, she jumped off at the earliest opportunity to still come out smelling of roses for certain people and won herself some points from her more credulous detractors. She’s many things, few if any of them good, but one thing she isn’t is stupid
