  • I’ve been in software design and development for decades. Sorry, but you are wrong.

The reason these companies are so profitable is because they sell your data.

Whales are fine, but that’s not their only revenue stream. People freely give up their data to them and that’s stupidly valuable. If you think these companies aren’t selling it, you’re very naive.

And to be clear, you’re saying this in response to an article pointing out they’ve been selling your data.

  • Oh, if it matters, I also run Memory Clean 2 to monitor RAM usage and do Extreme Clean from time to time.

I forgot about this because it’s basically muscle memory at this point, but maybe this is making a difference?

As of right now with just Sibelius, Scrivener, and about 40 browser tabs (no Adobe), I have 2.01 GB free.

e: I downvoted my original comment since it’s now occurred to me that this app may be why my machine isn’t struggling.

I taught my son to be a conscientious objector.

I caught hell for that, especially in conversations in my very, very small town where many people sent their kids into this meat grinder.

I told my son he was too good for that, and some locals hate me for that. Like they thought I was saying my son was better than theirs.

No, I just understand the system, and I’m not going to groom my kid to be chopped meat. You don’t have to do that either.

You do you. That’s not beautiful to me, though, e: and my son is the most beautiful thing in the world to me.
