  • my opinion about nym VPN for now is… it’s not very stable, and it was very unstable up until recently

before two things were very very annoying that tree me off, first is the connection was getting stuck after exactly one hour saying that everything is connected when it wasn’t, and the second issue is partly of too many reconnects was that my *tb allowance was exhausted after 60gb which happened many months in a row

there are not as many nodes for the same country as I would like to have, and many nodes have not really good health (like websites ask for captcha or don’t let you in)

on the other hand, if without tax and paying for two years with crypto, you can get it very very very cheap

and nym promised to be very secure and etc, and with more development the whole experience will get better

  • I love you for being so human

Just a random person on the internet asked you to explain something, and you did, you’re so cool

Thank you for the explanation, I will really remember and keep it for my whole life

    ❤️‍🩹

(No sarcasm, really, people these days are so mean and tell you to look everything up yourself, or just get angry because you ask or don’t know. Even though you could just copy and paste, this is a human interaction. Really happy to see somebody’s still alive)

  • Thanks for explaining it, because it’s a long and complex story I didn’t want to type 😅

Also, probably the most touching point is how this happened. Gitea was a community project, and they were electing a leader every year or so, and giving them all the passwords (and it seems like the rights for the project, although it’s not stated anywhere) This “out-of-nowhere” company is just one the temporary presidents that hijacked all the domains, repos, etc. Registered a for-profit company and transfered everything there

The community itself wrote an open letter wanting explanations And at the end they forked gitea into forgejo

    1. I use brave on android, because there’s not much choice. I really-really-really loved bromite, but noupdatess for like a year Recently I found out there’s cromite so I think i will check that one out
    2. On desktop I use librewolf, only
    3. For any people using google chrome/yandex/edge/opera I install brave and disable all the crypto/advertising/crap. It would be nice to have a script that does it automatically. Or another browser that just doesn’t have that
