That’s awesome! :) Did you land on a favourite for day-to-day stuff? I had the exact same pipeline - windows 11 was announced, and Mint went on days later! :) I love Kubuntu at the moment, and tried PopOS as well. :)

During winter no less! :/
I do, this is it! Recently remade in Hugo :)
It’s mostly things I’ve made or been interested in (music, game projects, musical web nonsense), but mostly just… I’ve always had this site, and am attached to it in a way?
It used to be the name of a comic I made for fun, and the gets used for everything to remind me to keep that feeling of fun and making stuff for enjoyment. :)
Must admit, I’m frequently torn between the private nature of why I binned facebook vs writing there, but meh, I’m happy and that’ll do.
I “broke” linux mint just by trying to pop KDE on, had to timeshift because it messed up my keyboard layout and a whole bunch of other things with my display.
I don’t know how people do these crazy changes without pain, and have a feeling the answer is simply “there’s pain” 😂

Thank you so much for this! I never ever see anyone share open-source setups like this for non-hobby work, and it’s inspiring. :)
(Ramble incoming)
I noticed since jumping from windows I’m missing Ableton, and it’s been a mental block of knowing that I’ll need to choose a new way to do things. It’s daft as I loved ardour and LMMS back in 2014, and I’m sure they’re even better now :) I totally need to dedicate some time to music, it’s been a neglected piece of my soul for a bit too long. :)
Edit: also, Plug Data looks brilliant! I loved MaxMSP, and it got me into game making/coding. :)

For me, the last “ah yes, the future” moment was going from “broadband” to seeing real fiber at a friend’s house that was 100x faster. Insanity at the time :)

You can’t just make me vanish into a dark room and listen to an album…
… yet here I am, and I thank you. :)

I can recommend the burger recipe that uses cream crackers! :) Nothing more insightful to contribute besides that though as I’ve not tried other recipes
(usually the BBC have a version with “less fancy ingredients”, by which I mean “doesn’t assume I have my life together and can afford to have fresh vegetables on hand in my fridge” - this is probably a me problem lol)
Always Sometimes Monsters gets my vote! It was a good story and I felt like it was a great use of a weekend. Might not be everyone’s cup of tea (text-based, no combat), but I loved it!

Also the keyboard! I have never used one I liked more until thumbkey came along :) The windows keyboard was so good for swipe typing, it makes me wonder how they now own swift key and it isn’t as good!
When I had to go to Android (phone battery on the Lumia 950xl started swelling), I used things to replicate Windows Phone as it was so fun to use. :)

Emesene and pidgin were great! :)

Coast by Kim Deal :)

Thinking about it, I would not put it past me to have set it and forgotten 😂 it’s been a while since I played about with the settings!

You convinced me, I’m totally adding this today! :)
I also would throw in sponsorblock to that too - it skips all the “but first, Raid Shadow Legends…” “don’t forget to like share and subscribe” nonsense :)
edit: thank you, I just poked into YouTube Revanced, and found DeArrow was on! This explains why I didn’t like youtube’s content when on my PC, so I’ll 100% be adding this to Firefox! :)
I love them because of a sesame allergy! Worry free brioche for the me! :)

Now that just sounds blissful! I legit plan to try this

It was in fact a protest because dinner would take an hour and a yorkshire pudding fell out its bag while I was rummaging in the freezer! I needed sustenance and gravity obliged, it would have been rude to deny my destiny. 😊
I am sure that my sacrifices and heroism in a trying time are just what any other normal, sane person would have done… I should think probably I guess

Frozen yorkshire puddings with raisins inside. A bit of sweet, a bit of cronch.
I am aware of what I have said, and stand by my poor life choices that led to this brilliant discovery.
Thank you for reminding me of this!
It’s wasn’t that long ago that I was in a little lamborghini, and sleeping on bookshelves.
You’d be amazed at what you can make! :) I am not formally trained, and picked up a tonne from doing (and youtube) - smarts be darned, I have fun! :) If there’s a game you’d like to make or look into how it’s put together, I find it to be a fun hobby definitely.
it’s a very cheap hobby, as the big three (Godot, Unity, and Unreal) all are free to use (the latter two have commercial costs, but godot is open-source), so I love it for that too! :) There’s no equipment needed either, I even have godot installed on my phone because I can! :)
I’m a unity dev, so that’s my wheelhouse. Unity offer handy lessons to help you pick up how things work, but both godot and unity are okay once you overcome “whoah lots of things! send help!”. I’ve not used unreal, but I gather the building-block scripting “blueprints” is easy enough. :)
Whatever you choose to get up to, hope you have fun!
