Imagine giving standing applause to your political opponent for genociding millions for overthrowing the evil regime ™ only to be desperately less down when you find out that he’s gonna fuck it up as usual.
At this point it might be better if the US goes in without a plan as having one didn’t seem to work out the last 50+ military conflicts.

No no no, you don’t understand, we wanted to make money from the ports and produce the cars but they had to be the complex, oil-sucking ones because those are hard to produce and we and our partners made good profits from the oligopoly and making cheap and environment friendly cars is just cheating. It’s against the rules-based world order! Also, Uyghurs!
It’s such a great litmus test for any historical figure to just go to their Wikipedia page and look how many wifes and children they had and what ages the wifes were at marriage.
I was under the impression that not only has this been the (German) law for decades, it used to be the only legal way of installing spyware and also exfiltrating data. But I can’t be assed to look it up.
Unfortunately I feel this is still a slippery slope and one that also even AES haven’t been very good at handling. Who decides what is “some way of contributing”? Is community work, emotional support, spreading knowledge about a hobby, some form of art a “valid” way to “earn one’s living”? And how much of those you would have to do? What happens if you are hindered? Who decides?
I think without a post-scarcity (or severely degrowth) economy, these will stay hard to find a common ground on.
Yes but the purpose of the system is what it does. Nobody cares about the well-meaning nerd who designed it to work “in theory”.
