I have an Eufy named Goofy. He’s an early model but works fine, except sometimes he locks himself in the bathroom.

Oh yeah, I bought a cheap machine pre-2000 and it’s paid for itself several times over just making boat canvas and doing sail repairs.

I bought a cheap 3d printer years ago and I’m pretty sure it’s paid for itself just making replacement parts for our dishwasher. Probably paid for itself several times over if I add up the price+shipping of all the other miscellaneous repair parts it’s made.

I read the article. It sounds like the auto makers concern is that they don’t think they have been given enough time to solve the problem (the problem being one which may kill people while we wait for a solution).
I think we should give them all the time they want, as long as they stop selling cars without safe door handles RIGHT NOW.

You’re thinking of adaptive lenses (that darken when in sunlight). OP has progressive lenses, which are a kind of bifocal lens without a sharp dividing line between the near and far vision parts.
You aren’t wrong though.

More likely zinc or brass.

Cook isn’t handling it like solid gold though (it looks too light). I bet it’s 24 karat gold plated zinc.
I play Skyrim SE on Linux (Via Steam) and currently have about 30 mods on it, and it runs fine. I have run Oblivion Remastered (no mods) and have experienced occasional crashes, but it is at least playable.

Not a problem for me. All the software I need is either available as native Linux or runs ok under Wine.
I’m ready to ditch Windows entirely at this point. I just need to find the best way to do that, without having to rebuild the Linux side of my dual boot PC.
Of course, it’s often a scam. But application fees can be legit. The key is how they are administered.
The fee should not be non refundable, just not refunded under certain specific circumstances.
It’s not fraud if you tell the applicant what the rental criteria are and what happens to the money if they are turned down.
In ancient times, I was a small time landlord. On a couple of occasions I asked for an application fee. I followed these rules, which I explained to the applicant:
It costs money to do background checks. I wasn’t going to be out of pocket if an applicant was dishonest with me.

History classes in the US cover WW2, but barely touch on the causes of WW2.

Easy, just start a new instance and leave this one.
Many label printers (especially the older ones) use a proprietary text-based language, and accept plain vanilla text input via their serial port. They don’t use a printer driver as such. To use one of them you have to learn their command language (usually pretty simple) and write a text file describing what you want to print using that language, and upload the file to the printer.
Start with the printer documentation and go from there.
Newer printers need linux drivers. Support varies.
