A fuck ton of us are paycheck to paycheck looking for any outlet to soothe our broken minds and bodies. I really hate this generalist talk about the us right now when so many of us are prisoners, glorified indentured servants. I literally don’t know how I’m going to feed myself for a couple of weeks right now. I fear ice just because I’m brown, especially here in the south.

I had no say in this, I voted, I’ve protested, I’ve tried changing minds. Keep in mind that a large portion of us are the same.

I am american, moreso than most realistically. My family has been texan since before even texas was american. I am brown and have a Latin last name, there’s a ton of us the same here in texas. In my family the generation before me was the last that inherited spanish from the family and none are fluent (texmex spanglish at best), at least not without schooling.

This is all to say that my drivers license is on me at all times outside of my house. I carry it everywhere, even on my smoke breaks at work, even when I’m washing my car, even when I’m checking my mail.

I shouldn’t be living like this, I don’t deserve to live like this, my rights as an American citizen say I should be protected against this, but here we are.

Fuck you and this mindset, I’ve been building on this “model” for years and even in the best of times it’s a crapshoot. My life has been rocketing past me despite the years of skills and experience i have built. NO ONE should need a second job to survive and it is shit even as a bandaid. These jobs are not transitionary jobs for too many people who have children and dont get any healthcare, for too many that can Barely afford a decent life. These are real fucking jobs that deserve compensation.

Eh, as far as storms go this isnt that bad so don’t worry about us too much. We usually have hurricane parties as it comes in because we know we’ll get away with a couple days off of work lol.
