I’ve started recently too. Slow and steady. But if this is true, I need to hurry tf up. It’s sad we (in Sweden) practically HAVE to have a google account since we use an app called BankID for everything with banking and identifying ourself with the government. So no google account ≈ no id
You can get the BankID for your bc but only for windows and I don’t have a windows pc anymore.

Please reply to this dorumon
If it’s a ban from the whole google echo-system that is fucked up. I sadly still have a lot of important stuff linked to my google account.

I think a lot of communities wont move at all tbh

Oh wow, it IS odd that Skoda would be more expensive and €5k is a lot! Very odd indeed.
I’m glad you found a car you like!

That’s the “why I can’t do it” part.
But if it was possible to get knobs and buttons for everything and a small-ish screen only for info, I’d take that. I’d pay for that. Touch screens are dangerous. I’d at most be comfortable to swipe on the screen to show different infos like GPS, temperature/airflow, music/radio. Otherwise I want buttons and knobs with little lights.

I’d rip out the touch screen SO fast

Computer with cloud-based subscription sounds like a great example of enshittification.
I might prefer no PC over that. Ew. I mean, the libraries have PCs you can borrow if I’d really need to use one.

That’s actually the main reason I switched my PC from Windows 10 to Linux. I couldn’t upgrade to Win 11. Now I’m happy I couldn’t!

I would have called myself insane five years ago too!
Yeah, jumping to Linux could help a bit. I did that a couple of years ago, but that was more because I couldn’t upgrade to Win 11 on my almost a decade old PC. Now I’m glad I couldn’t upgrade to Win 11 haha.
I had a laptop with Win 11 tho but I never got used to it and don’t want AI and shit in any of my computers so I jumped over to Linux on that to.
Maybe Steam will save the day with the Steam Cube? Isn’t that pretty much a normal gaming PC?

Yes exactly!
It somehow feels more doable now since avatars on other sites are becoming more common, I mostly think of Facebook/Meta and Snapchat. But also generated images that have been trending, “me as action-figure”, “me in ghibli style” etc. and even filters that people use consistently.
I think people are getting more used to seeing different types of avatars.

This is a good point, we don’t need PCs to be this expensive.
I just hope we don’t fuck up the whole thing and end up with cloud computers or end up not making new PCs…

Noooooo don’t say that ;a;

I didn’t really think about it until Nano Banana Pro became a thing, before I knew it was possible but it would be so obvious AI. But now? It’s not obvious now. I even consider creating a digital avatar that I use instead of my own face.

Thank you for sharing! I think they’ll never give up ;a;

Doing everything in the cloud is crazy. I’m so glad I jumped over to Linux a couple years ago!
Thank you! I’ll check them out \o/
