I switched my last windows device to cachy os, and chose the plasma desktop. Not only does it look pretty, but all my games work great! Windows is no longer needed, suffice it to say.

There was a thread of people pointing out biases that exist on Lemmy, and some commenters obviously mention anti-AI people. Cue the superiority complex (cringe).

Some of these people actually believe UBI will become a thing for people who lose their jobs due to AI, meanwhile the billionaire class is actively REMOVING benefits for the poor to further enrich themselves.

What really gets me is when people KNOW what the hell we’re talking about, but then mention the 1% use case scenario where AI is actually useful (for STEM) and act like that’s what we’re targeting. Like no, motherfucker. We’re talking about the AI that’s RIGHT IN FRONT OF US, contributing to a future where we’re all braindead ai-slop dependent, talentless husks of human beings. Not to mention unemployed now.

The letter writing was a good idea, and I read the other replies about him giving distance to her. As for the suggestion of her possibly having autism, I think that’s on her to figure out through her doctor. I wouldn’t outright tell her that.

After a week of writing letters, maybe they could transition to having daily talks about anything on each other’s minds. And being sure to ask “why?”, because some people listen well but never ask questions. It helps both people. Other than that, so long as she carries through with getting to the doctor and communication keeps strong, things will likely work out fine. Definitely make a new post if there’s any huge updates on this
