Sometimes I make video games
When I was a teenager I felt this way. I didn’t ask to be here, and so far life has sucked pretty hard.
My stance has softened as I’ve aged. I still wish I’d never been born, mind you, but I don’t blame my parents for having kids. They just did what came naturally for them.
You can’t consent to being born, and that upset me a lot. But it’s not like they could have asked my permission anyway. Might as well make the most of the situation.
Calling someone an idiot after having your opinion refuted in a thread about people having thin skin is either some high level satire or proof you have thin skin

Ubuntu probably has the widest community support. Although it does seem to have some issues
I’m not clear on what your bugs are, but if it’s like, you run a command in the terminal and a bunch of scary sounding messages come up, that’s normal. That’s just how it likes to be
If it’s been a while since you’ve seen used it, then I’d say Linux is probably worth another shot. It’s come a long way, and it only gets better with age
Counterpoint: if people feel like they can’t talk about these things then they’ll never talk about them and the condition often worsens.
I also feel pretty powerless to help in a meaningful way. But I’m not going to shun someone who’s struggling either

I feel it’s one of those jobs that everyone should do at some point in their life. That or customer / food service. Either exposes you to some of the rudest, most entitled people, and if everyone had that exposure I feel there’d be more empathy to go around
I tell you though, hearing people yell at your mom all day is great motivation to stay in school to find a better job

I learned that people suck, and I still hate talking on the phone.
I also learned sudoku because you have to do something between calls.

In English we have an idiom, “same shit, different day,” which means dealing with the same sort of unpleasant task until it’s routine. Do you have something similar?
This Hamburg court thing sounds like something I’d call “same shit, different pay,” which would be like when you have an issue with your boss so you appeal to their boss, and find out that they’re just as bad except they’re higher in the organization.

I feel like “don’t laugh at your own jokes” is a piece of ancient wisdom from the entertainment industry.
Like, if you’re a performer and you’re laughing so hard that you can’t get the punchline out, then it prevents people from actually hearing the joke.
When you consider that performers in traditional media have a limited time slot to work in, then taking a break to laugh could be considered a waste or unprofessional.
I don’t think that long-format content has the same problem. If you’re making an online video or a podcast then you’re not limited by time. Authenticity is more important than fitting into a five minute set
Initial attempts to search for this were frustrated because my search engine kept trying to find rhymes for “FOSS” or “Open Source”
However, I did find an app with credits that showed what libraries it used.
In particular, this one might be up your alley: Carnegie Mellon pronouncing dictionary. It looks like you’d still have to combine it with an existing dictionary in order to find the rhymes, but at least you can get the pronunciation

I don’t ever want to oversell a self-help book because their usefulness really depends on the person reading it, but honestly this one has been life changing for me too.
I would rather be misinformed than disinformed. Either way you have a chance to learn and grow, but at least with misinformation you can come by it honestly. Disinformation is far more grave of an issue
They say ignorance is bliss, so I’d probably be happier to know a little. Unfortunately, I already know more than a little and it’s not easy to unlearn, so I guess I’m cursed with awareness now
However, if you only know a little then you’re more susceptible to (dis/mis)information. That can have a tremendously negative impact on your quality of life - although I suppose you might not be aware of it
The world would be a better place if we all knew more about it. The only reason why knowledge is cursed is because with knowledge we see how unfairly a few humans treat each other
Well you try one way, and then if that doesn’t work, you roll over, and if that doesn’t work then rolling over again should do the trick

I mean, if the cat pees on the rug and you clean it up right away, that’s probably not a big deal. I imagine it’s a different story if you’re cleaning out a hoarder’s cat colony in a poorly ventilated area and don’t dilute the bleach because you wanted something stronger

I mean, I’d be kind of surprised if it did kill you, but ammonia and bleach mix to make an extremely toxic gas
When you consider that a lot of their customers are pretty entrenched in Amazon’s services, “Boycott Amazon for a week” is more achievable than, “Boycott Amazon forever.”
Now don’t get me wrong, I’d love to see people give up on Amazon forever. But sometimes taking a week off is long enough for people to change their shopping habits.
Although I suppose the insidious thing about Amazon is that they only offer an annual subscription so I doubt people are cancelling their service for a week.
