How would you recommend someone shop for a laptop? Any good guides?

I downvoted for the image. If you’re going to make a text post, make a text post.

l337x sometimes does strange things too, like cause an odd file to start downloading instead of loading the main page.

Unfortunately, they shot themselves in the foot by responding the way they did. They basically did the job of anyone who wants them taken down and not trusted. It was probably the worst way they could have reacted. Such a tragedy to lose such a valuable website.

That’s extremely rare, and doesn’t really exist on a single platform. I think you mostly find it on smaller sites that fill a specific niche.
For example, there is so much talk about the “bio hacking community” and I’ve never found one.

Local governments need to be able to run independent infrastructure that can talk to each other. Centralized infrastructure is not an option anymore these days
Zulip can be self-hosted.

Ok, “La Suite Numerique” turns up the result:
I was able to translate the main site with Firefox, but the docs aren’t translating. They have a language selection in the top right, but it doesn’t work. I guess it’s very focused on the French audience only for now.

It says they’re switching to “Visio”, but when I search that, I only get a “microsoft visio” product.

Perhaps it depends on the quality of moderation for your Nextdoor area. But those issues you listed are separate from the buying/selling part of it anyway. I’ve generally found Nextdoor & Craigslist to be sufficient.

How does it compare to nextdoor & craigslist?
That doesn’t prevent users from changing account passwords though right? Say you give access to someone to manage your social media (or some other important account), they could log in and change the password and email and take over the account.
Do you know of a way to protect against employee/partner sabotage?
Doesn’t that mean everyone has admin access to the full database and all accounts? You’re putting full trust in everyone that no one will make a mistake, or purposefully sabotage the db or accounts.
That’s not really true. If something like 1-3% of recipients mark your email as spam, they’re all going to spam.

Ask on their github https://github.com/fmhy/FMHY/issues. I don’t see it listed anywhere, but it should be listed.

What does it default to? Google+bing+DDG?

I’m not seeing that option anywhere. Nor does it allow me to change the “weight”. I found a github discussion saying it should show up after you save the settings, but I tried that on two instances and didn’t get any unique URL.
Ah, I found it under the “cookies” tab. Needs to be more obvious IMO.

it’s as good or better than
It’s only as good as the search engines you select. Which ones have you selected?

I checked it out, but most of the public instances I looked at use google + bing. I think I only came across one that used Mojeek, but they deranked it so google results were still at the top.
Yeah you can customize them – if you never clear your cookies.
Pretty much need to self-host it to customize it.
