18 U.S.C. § 333 says that’s a crime punishable by fines, 6 months in prison, or both. I’m sure they’ll probably consider that as 1 count for each piece of currency destroyed. Then they’ll tack on more prison time for failure to pay the fines you can’t afford because the government made your money worthless. Combine that with the 13th amendment loophole, and you’ve got yourself a cash cow primed and ready to be milked by the private prisons and staffing agencies of the good ol’ US of A.

I am vehemently anti-death penalty. That said, I have zero problem whatsoever with making violation of the public trust and willful abuse of power by elected and appointed officials into a capital offense. And, quite honestly, for crimes as egregious as this, maybe that punishment should be publicly executed.

I’m all for an AI tax to offset the jobs replaced, with that tax going towards providing a universal basic income to those displaced workers, for life. Maybe then AI will actually be useful for something.

As a natural-born American of Filipino descent, that was, quite honestly, my first thought.

As a Filipino myself, I can’t help but wonder what the “real” reasons are for her marriage. I’ve seen a lot of Filipino women who marry white men for less-than romantic reasons. Incidentally, a good number of those marriages don’t seem to last very long past the path of citizenship…
