I bought their lifetime license like 5 or 6 years ago, still works to this day. I wouldn’t use it for anything other than piracy though, if you actually need a private and secure VPN, use Mullvad, Proton or IVPN.

Read You is amazing
I would avoid F-Droid though and directly download it from GitHub using Obtainium instead
You can use the contactless payments supported tag when searching the GrapheneOS banking app compatibility list on GitHub. https://github.com/PrivSec-dev/banking-apps-compat-report/issues?q=is%3Aissue+label%3A"contactless+payments+supported"
This is incorrect. GrapheneOS supports NFC, and works just fine with NFC-based payment systems. Google Pay is an exception, because Google specifically chose to disable it on any device that isn’t whitelisted by them. Other apps, such as Curve Pay, PayPal or banking apps with a built-in NFC payment feature work without issues.

Just disconnect it from the internet?

If I remember correctly you can download a profile from https://account.protonvpn.com/downloads#wireguard-configuration
You can choose if you want to use a free or premium server (obviously the premium server is only gonna work if you also have a premium subscription)

I know I’m kinda late, but I used to use a site called BlackSpigot years ago

I think you can bypass this by using the WireGuard profile instead of their official app, haven’t tried this for quite some time though

Would you mind sharing how you found it?

Anna’s Archive has a full mirror of SciHub called SciDB

Have you checked some of the sites linked on https://megathread.pages.dev/emulation ?
I think you’re gonna have the most luck on https://nopaystation.com/ and https://crocdb.net/

20 years ago desktop Linux wasn’t nearly as good as it is nowadays. They were also influenced by Micro$oft lobbyists, who threatened to move their headquarters out of Munich, causing millions of lost tax revenue for the city.

Tech bros are only interested in getting the results from open source
That’s why we need the GNU AGPLv3

For anyone interested in the Kik controversy: There’s a great episode of the Darknet Diaries podcast about it: https://darknetdiaries.com/episode/93/
Would use it for piracy, not if you need good privacy. It’s good enough to avoid a complaint letter from your ISP when torrenting, but can you be sure that they don’t sell your data to advertisers? I don’t know. Will they respond to a law enforcement subpoena? Probably.
