I write a blog that focuses on public information, public health, and policy: https://pimento-mori.ghost.io/

The puppy who lost its way.
The world was changing. And the puppy was getting bigger…

Or the corporations running the government are intentionally hoping to cause the collapse of the United States and completely privatize every aspect of whatever they replace it with.

Broligarchs determining U.S. domestic policy: There’s no question China has an advantage in AI development. That’s why we had to cut funding to every other area (including science), strip away privacy laws, destroy civil liberties, gut regulations for corporations, and put all of our eggs into one AI basket.
Trump: Done.
NSB: China has a growing advantage over the U.S. in science. Perhaps we should rethink dumping money into the AI hole in the ground you have been banking on turning into the next .com boom? Maybe we could consider moving it back into science.
Trump: Yuh fiyad…

A lawyer who was helping a woman sue a Leo Black is being sanctioned for misconduct? Unfuckingbelievable…

Or working exactly as it was intended

I mean, I 100% support calling out the Dems when they do obviously morally questionable things. They also just did something good (blocking arms sales to Israel), and even though it didn’t pass (bc they’re the minority), they deserve to be acknowledged when they do the right thing. It certainly took them long enough, and honestly, I doubt they would have united if not for public pressure, and journalists pointing out the hypocrisy/questioning why wealthy donors often seem to have more sway over Dems than their own voters do.
Domestic surveillance is an issue even Republicans are divided on, and most Americans, regardless of party, are opposed to the government trampling on civil liberty in the name of “safety” and “patriotic duty.” Especially during an unjust forever war. We’ve seen this one before. We know how it ends.
The Patriot Act marked a very clear turning point for America. If you value democracy and civil liberty, expanding domestic surveillance power is a terrible idea. Even Trump opposed this when it was just a campaign issue, but now he’s suddenly in favor of it. Why?
This really should have been a no brainer issue for Dems to rally behind and support. Like this should be a major part of any 2028 presidential campaign. Given how many AI investors and other evil billionaires are now raining donations on to politicians in hopes of accessing the data the government collects or being contracted by the government to collect it, we should all be asking why the Dems didn’t take the ball and run with this one.

I was under them impression that just using the internet in America might subject you to domestic surveillance.

This could not be more ridiculous. Pedophelia and sex trafficking are literally being normalized to levels of “locker room talk” in 2026. Nobody is facing justice. We’re basically just legalizing pedophelia for the wealthy, which apparently we’ve always done, we just have to accept it as official now. And maybe that was the point of Trump focusing so much attention on pedophiles in the first place?
However, a grandmother wearing an inflatable penis costume to protest captain pedophile while he holds the highest office in the United States is the real danger to children. Got it.
Straight to jail with you granny.

He demands to know how she could possibly justify such an obscene display: “I would like to hear how you would explain to my children what you’re supposed to be.”
I would like to hear how you would explain to your children if they ever cross paths with the man this grandmother was protesting, they should probably run as far away as possible. You know, because he’s a fucking pedophile.
Talking to a colleague over his two-way radio after the encounter, Babb described what happened. Gamble was dressed “like a freakin’ weiner,”
Babb asks where the zipper is and, as he peels off the penis suit, asks Gamble for her name.
She replies, “Aunt Tifa.

At this point I feel like it might be easier to just ask “What is he not trying to distract from?”

An AI chatbot can also be trained to pull users back from delusion. Alexander, 39, a resident of an assisted-living scheme for people with autism, did this after what he believes was an episode of AI psychosis a few months ago. “I experienced a mental breakdown at 22. I had panic attacks and severe social anxiety and, last year, I was prescribed medication that changed my world, got me functioning again. And I got my confidence back,” he says.
“I still use AI, but very carefully,” he says. “I’ve written in some core rules that cannot be overwritten. It now monitors drift and pays attention to overexcitement. There are no more philosophical discussions. It’s just: ‘I want to make a lasagne, give me a recipe.’ The AI has actually stopped me several times from spiralling. It will say: ‘This has activated my core rule set and this conversation must stop.’
Fuck mandatory regulations like this are so badly needed for AI. Far more so than this age verification bullshit being shoved down our throats, but the people who own and control these fucking AI bots are also the people who:
A. Lost their minds to sycophantic echo chambers long ago by buying social media networks in the name of “freeze peach” and banning any dissenting opinions.
B. Know that their entire business model depends on the sycophantic echo chamber keeping users engaged and spiraling into delusions that make them push away all human contact
C. Oppose any and all regulations for AI, but insist on legalizing invasion of privacy in order to micromanage and control the lives of individual citizens.
People need to be able to hear pushback. Not every conversation or experience should be a sycophantic mirror stroking your ego and ramping up your delusions.
One of my closest friends started using AI a few years ago for work related things, and now is completely dependent on it. He used to be one of the most caring and considerate people I’ve ever known. Not to mention one of the most intelligent.
He’s started to slip from reality a few times and then come back. As of now he seems to be in a complete spiral and oblivious to the reality of what he’s doing by isolating himself, and cutting everyone who cares about him from his life. To me the path he’s on clearly ends with him waking up to reality one day and wondering how TF he got there.
He’s convinced everyone else is the problem and seems to always spin his recollection of events to paint others as the villain. To say it’s heartbreaking feels like the most ridiculous understatement. It’s like watching a slow moving train wreck and being unable to actually stop it from happening.

“If it really isn’t a violent religion, then why don’t the non violent members take some responsibility and call out the violent terrorists who commit so many atrocities in the name of the religion?”
Talarico said on X: “Jesus loves. Christian Nationalism kills. You may pray for my death, Pastor, but I still love you. I love you more than you could ever hate me.”

So with a draft looking more and more likely every day, how soon do you think they’ll be openly patrolling airports in order to keep Americans from escaping?
“Be a man! If you don’t want to go to war, have your dad get a doctor to diagnose you with bone spurs.”

They like em young, dumb, and full of naively believing the game is zero sum
Believing that life is a zero-sum game may help create the very scarcity and hostility that the zero-sum mindset expects from the world. To create a different reality, perhaps we must first choose to play a different game.

Hey look at that, even though everything else about reality is off in 2026, comedic timing is on point.
It might actually be funny if it was all just a joke instead of hypocrisy for the sake of rubbing in what they can get away with. Which is pretty much anything.

And so these disruptions are gonna disrupt every aspect of our society. And to make this work, we have to come to an agreement of what it is we’re going to do with the technology; how are we gonna explain to people who are likely gonna have less good, and less interesting jobs.”
“This shit does whatever you need to pretend it does in order for you to support it.”

Exactly. The Trump administration and Israel allegedly took out the majority of the Iranian government’s leadership (and killed a lot of innocent people in order to do so), yet somehow the result is just that more innocent people are dying.
I’m just going to come right out and say it. What’s the deal with this war?
Sorry to ask such a provocative question. Definitely don’t want to wind up on some watch list for criticizing the regime administration.
Also, we are finally just calling it a war right? I know Netenyahu is, but wasn’t sure which double speak the U.S. is officially using? Are we still supposed to be pretending it’s an “intervention” and therefore not illegal?

“People are still eating at the table, music’s still playing, and yet the ship is sinking.”
💯
There’s a lot of people who made this happen, and we all witnessed the very public showdown between Trump and the NIH when COVID hit, but just wanted to remind people of something that slipped under most people’s radar when Trump first took office almost a decade ago:
Mr. Monopoly deserves so much more credit for the destruction of the U.S. than he’s ever given.
The headline flows nicely with the whole “Is this reality, or just a very stressful fever dream?” vibe that is 2026.
