I’ve long held the minimum wage should be pegged to cost of living and inflation reporting and not be voted for each raise to it. This way anytime a business tries to jack prices beyond their added costs, it bites them in the ass.
See i like this idea of pegging the min wage to inflation too, but the government(s all over) has been lying about inflation reports for over 6 years now. So they’ll just fudge the numbers even worse to never go up more than a percent a year.

Indexing salaries to inflation has been done in the past in Brazil and it let to hyperinflation in the 80s.
