I’m 6’3". Flying was fine 25 years ago, but those seats are getting closer and closer and years ago I just said fuck it. Between security and border control, plus delays, it’s now faster to drive.
However, while people blame airlines, by far the biggest irritant is flyers. These women who show up in pyjamas and slippers for a 90 minute flight.
i’m 5’8", but between the tiny little toddler size seats with open ketchup packets stuffed in the cushions, the deliberately overbooked flights, the cancelled flights, airport traffic, airport parking, airport extortion prices for everything, lines for checking luggage, luggage fees, luggage size/weight limits, lost/destroyed luggage, layovers at labyrinthine airports (fuck you double, ATL), and literally everything else i haven’t mentioned having to do with flying–
i’ll go ahead and stuff my car with as much luggage (and liquid) as i want (for fucking free), leave when i want, stop where i want as often as i want (and park for free), not listen to some weirdo sitting so close i can smell what they had for breakfast yesterday yapping about some bullshit i couldn’t care less about the entire trip, and just fucking drive. and not throw even more money out the window renting a car when i get there. oh, the thing you want me to be at is too far away for me to make it in time? so, so sorry, i won’t be in attendance then.
