Exact same thing I thought. Honey bees are actively harmful for the environment because they outcompete wild bees who are less efficient at pollination whilst being actively exploited for their honey. While improving their diet is certainly a net benefit for the bees, at the end of the day it just reads to me like farmers have more efficient workers to harvest more honey and exploit even more.

What would adding the games to Steam accomplish? I assume I can’t just log on to my account and have the required files to download and install the games since they’re not originally from Steam. Or is it just a matter of being able to launch them once they’re added to the client? Or a convenience thing?

If someone, totally not me, were in possession of exe-files of games outside a platform like Steam, Epic or whatever, would it be possible to run them on a Linux distribution? Say something like a Steam rip or a GOG rip. Said someone has tried researching but didn’t find any conclusive answers

I can second this. I’ve got a Surface Go 2 that I’ve been using for a couple of years now and have fully transitioned to Kubuntu a year and a half ago or so. Been working pretty much flawlessly. My cameras don’t work, but I don’t need them regardless, the pen and the keyboard cover work out of the box, so does the touchscreen. You might want to make a few changes here and there to adjust for missing functions, but it’s been a pretty good experience so far. The Surface’s battery also lasts a lot longer and the Surface itself doesn’t get too warm anymore either, compared to Windows 11

I use Kubuntu on my Surface Go because it got way too warm under Windows. It’d work fine most of the time but I just got unhealthily warm to the point it’d get too hot to touch under very minor workload. My SO’s father, who’s been a huge proponent of Linux for decades now, suggested I give it a try and it’s been great. Some minor functionality restrictions but nothing I can’t work around. The touchscreen and the stylus work - that’s all I need for school

Don’t use thick lube for unresponsive yoyos and vice versa. Thick lube will make an unresponsive yoyo more responsive which you don’t want.

And don’t stress about playing a soulslike a certain way and don’t listen to gatekeeping haters. Play whatever way you want - it’s a game after all and you bought it for your pleasure

It’s sad that people have gotten used to just throwing away stuff instead of repairing it. Sure, some repairs really aren’t worth it - like the screen I’d gotten replaced of my LG G3 that was prone to have this defect with its screen regardless of screen swaps and whatnot - but most of the time, it’s just minor things that can actually be fixed by non-tech savvy person.

I think it should be of paramount importance that more companies are held accountable as to the amount of waste they’re producing and how much they’re contributing to pollution and waste around the globe. Unfortunately, capitalism is a thing, so that’s not gonna happen.

Having repairable options for those that do care is awesome, though. If I could afford, I’d gladly go for a Fairphone if I ever need to replace my current phone (still going strong after 5 years of use). Until their mass appeal, they’ll likely remain out of my pockets.

It’s a Surface Go 2, 8GB RAM, I think - maybe 4 - and a couple years old now. Haven’t tried, actually, since I rarely if ever need the cameras. However, I read that getting the cameras to work is a bit of a hassle. Not impossible but annoying
