Lol – they should a tho!

Quoth Glengarry Glenn Ross: Always be closing.

Gotcha. Thank you.

I fully believe that, but the name is simple and straightforward, as well, which I expect is worth a lot.

Nothing says “gratuitous overstatements” quite like marketing copy.

Is this version gonna be in the Ubuntu repos?
I use GIMP nearly daily for drawing with my tablet. Overall, it’s adequate, though I agree with a few other comments that the name is terrible. “PhotoShop” is partially popular because it has a (somewhat) descriptive name. “Inkscape” is far better than GIMP.
If it were my call, I’d just go with something simple and descriptive, like “Linux Image Studio” or, like, “GNU Image Studio,” if GNU’s gotta go in there. IMHO, it’s best to not over-think it, tho someone clearly took that approach to get here.

Agreed. I think of Wall-E often and think its vision of the future is more accurate, but Idiocracy makes for a more descriptive term to summarize it. And suddenly, I feel like I’m rehashing HS English class: “Does 1984 or Brave New World summarize society more accurately?” The premise being that in 1984, the government deliberately sought to shrink reality, whereas in “Brave New World,” individuals opted-in.
My perspective is that oligarchical wannabes are essentially giving people what they think those people want, but they’re clearly not following the ideas through to their logical conclusions. Like, AI in schools… OK… Why? Because thinking is too hard? Don’t be silly – that’s what brains do reflexively. And like, when did hard stuff get such a bad rap? IMHO, so-called friction is good, probably fundamental. This notion that everything should be all upside all the time is probably not even possible, much less desirable.

Noted, thank you for the tip.
And all customer service interactions have become annoying! In my book, it’s just businesses acting entitled, which irks me.
The shameless integration of free code a la Bind.

I’m using GrapheneOS to type this and have been using it (periodically) for weeks. I just noticed today that it doesn’t have visual voicemail, and I haven’t the foggiest idea what my vmail PW is. But all in all, it’s solid (knock on wood).

Will they not be incinerated upon re-entry?

In principle, sure. In practice, it seems like the ornery and the thin-skinned rise wayyyyyyy past the humble and the competent.

Is that true? How do we know that? Is it cuz you can’t vent it?
Clearly I was not the first with that call to action.
But seriously, Windows is awful. I’ve had to use it lately, and it’s comically bad. Like the OS shows me ads! Wtf!? In Fahrenheit 451, it describes the billboards as longer so you can read them while driving fast on the highway, and I feel like the ads Windows shows are basically a similar type of dystopian. And like, now you can disable more with menus, but then the disable option is like buried somewhere hard to find.
New job time!

I’m sure that will go well…😑

I, too, follow a lot of comedians on IG, but I’m noticing a problem lately: there are soooooo many recommendations that I hardly see the ones I follow intentionally. Like I get that the business model is addiction+distraction, but it seems like it’s undercutting its own business.

Screenshotted just in case.
Ohhhh trueché. Thank you.
