I just browse text based websites. To me the browser performance doesn’t really matter at all.
Does it support pwa? Does it allow to block ads and harmful content? That’s important to me.

Why?
I like to pay for the services I use. They go out of business if I don’t.
Because firefox still has no proper pwa support
Cool app!
It’s sad. I am “transitioning” according to the app because my score is at 53% …
ARTE, ZDF, …, ARD, my bank, train app, are all without open source alternative. Even though all of them are funded with my money

It depends on what you need more often. If you need high quality pdf papers with fancy stuff, using typst directly isn’t too bad.
If you write everything else in markdown, use computer languagss in addition to that and want to connect typesetting and programming, then markdown with a solid typst template is the way to go for me.

Pandoc, quarto

For easy pdfs, use markdown with a typst backend
What file type are you looking to compress? mp3? opus? flac?
What did you use to compress videos (photos) without noticable loss? What type was it before and after?
What is your quality requirement? Do you want low, good or high quality?

Thank for the explanation! The user in the image is claude itself, not a random anonymuous user. I see the problem of the ddos with issues, tickets etc. that is a real problem! But I don’t get the rigid denial of generative ai. As long as I review the code it generates, it can save me lots of time. I would hate the actions you described as well but the image depicts nothing fishy. Am I wrong about this?

Waybe it’s save if the maintainer reviews PRs before merging

Thx for sharing!

Looks nice but is just another workaround

There’s even more open source stuff!

It works great!
You just can’t save local playlists like with newpipe so that I can’t save anything on my TV

That’s cool
That makes it even worse
Thank you!
I didn’t bother looking at the license. I assumed it was openn source.
It’s source available which is good and better than proprietary but as a free alternative is better.
I really like it but that changes things for me, thanks again! Journiv can decide some day to not publish the code and that’s the problem for me.
Journiv looks promising. It’s not yet e2e but it’s on the roadmap https://github.com/orgs/journiv/projects/4/views/1?filterQuery=encrypt&pane=issue&itemId=146413342&issue=journiv|journiv-app|186
Esit: it’s not free, sorry.

There’s a backup option
Vanadium is much faster than ff and blocks roughly the same things. I still use ff :( (i know this is linux but I don’t use any chromium browsers on linux and my wifi card is so old I can’t say anything about browser speed)
