I understand all that, but point is that they don’t necessarily sell you profile or data points to a third party, they use all of that for their own targeted advertising

Iirc Google doesn’t sell data in the traditional sense, they package profiles for advertisers and their own ad network, but they don’t outright sell individual data. I could be wrong though.

Just give it more time.

I feel like this is a good time for a reminder that Elmo offered a bid for twitter to stop that kid from tracking his jet, Twitter accepted the offer, Elmo tried to jk lol his way out of it, and then was compelled to complete the transaction, during which time he kept trying to squirm and squeeze out of it.

Sanka, ya dead?

Best find a different ATM.

Use a pineapple

Fucking obnoxious

Charlie’s Angels (2000), the thin man

Nah, I think they’re saying that their corporate offerings and jobs in a given country would not contribute to GDP, while failing to address that developers and engineers would still be necessary to implement these open source applications, though Google won’t get to siphon money out of those economies. It’s purposely convoluted, basically Google throwing a temper tantrum.

Kinda surprised they hadn’t been doing this already.

Makes sense for the overdrive push on the Christianity angle. It’s just obnoxious to someone who’s going pretty damn secular.

Yeah right. Almost half the people I talk to are not happy but are burning their heads in the sand and waiting/hoping for this to blow over. It can’t happen here and all that.
Tbf, Homer Hickam is pretty well respected around NASA (he was the main character in October Sky). He also said in an interview later that he didn’t have any say over their internship being withdrawn, it was all the retweets with people hastagging NASA that got NASA’s people’s attention.

I’ll happily start learning Dutch Danish

And here I thought they were gonna make an example out of California.
I’m sure there is, but Google’s core business is advertising. It would almost be counterintuitive for them to sell that data when they make more money utilizing it in their own systems.
