  • So this article is talking about the Phoenix-Metro area because most data centers and INTEL are in Chandler, AZ. They offset heating and cooling costs with the lack of natural disasters and highly predictable weather. +4° doesn’t mean s* to the metro. It’s literally built to survive +150F° (street) temps.

The Central Arizona Project (CAP) does a good job to ensure our water supply but has been corrupted by foreign “needs” like alfalfa for Saudi livestock. The great Hohokam tribes didn’t plan for this when they built the original canals 1,000 years ago and connected the Pima with the means to produce the world’s greatest cotton. Olive oil, citrus, and so many other local agro THRIVE here. We shouldn’t be dumping water into Saudi alfalfa.

Regardless, data centers, Intel, Motorola, AMEX, Raytheon, Charles Schwab… have all paid their required taxes and put all three of my kids through the best public schools our tax dollars could fund. House values are holding strong and because of how many H1B visas live here, Chandler/Tempe/Mesa has some of the best variety of foods than most places in the southwest.

We have one of the largest nuclear power plants, our solar and wind capabilities are off the charts… we just need an administration that shuns fossil fuels and will stand up against farming exports. Oddly, both go hand in hand.

  • Statistically speaking, yes. American portion sizes are larger than European and Asian countries but I dunno…

I’ve been served a whole table of food in Italy and ate for four hours chit-chatting with locals. Korean’s put so much food on the table there’s no room for drinks. In Vietnam I’ve been served a fried fish the size of my thigh in the best curry sauce ever. Order Schnitzel from Germany or Austria and you’re getting a pice of fried meat the size of your chest on top of a mound of potato’s and lemons. Loads of places in China serve family style, even if you’re traveling alone.

Every country has its big plates but that doesn’t mean you can’t find reasonably sized plates. A McCheeseburger is the same size round the world. You also don’t have to eat your whole plate in one sitting. Get comfy with leftovers and you can save a few bucks on your next meal.

Also, don’t believe what you see on TV. Those dudes say some WILD shit and most of them are riding the influencers train to try and dig up customers. The bigger the spectacle, the more views on the tickytocky.

I didn’t say anything about Americas bullet problems and I certainly didn’t say anything about ICBM’s which we are ALL in range of. Im saying I’m not waking up tomorrow morning to an anti-missile battery defending me from a hail of dumb fire missiles or long distance drone strikes.

Haven’t had a drink in years, btw.

You and agree with each other. You aren’t telling me anything I don’t know. What I’m saying is WE have to deal with our own idiots. We don’t have insane neighbors willing to double down on the aggression less than a few hundred miles away. A few hundred miles could be a weekend drive to see family in the US.

Kinda sucks here ngl, but Europe is SO small. Like that high school graduate who came back from gap year to a high school party saying he traveled “all over Europe” just to pick up girls. Come on guy, it’s like a metro rail pass and a two weeks time.

Yeah, it sucks in the US but we only have to deal with OUR idiots, we don’t have to deal with our own idiots PLUS a neighbor’s that are crazy unstable. I’m not in missile range of anything since the 60’s. Just saying.

  • By that logic, AI engineers can just say they’re an archive and steal IP from artists to “lend” it to their LLM? I’m not saying the dude was in the right, I’m saying calling yourself an archive doesn’t automatically make you immune to IP challenges. When IA started “controlled digital lending” shortly after the pandemic, they started taking fire from creators.

An archive archives things. It’s not a library, it’s not a tor host, and CDL shouldn’t have happened… but everyone was on lockdown.
