People are addicted to it and see the aspartame water with no sugar and no calories and feel they can drink as much as they want guilt free.

Why? Is it creating construction jobs? Doubt the entire salaries of everyone building it will total anywhere near that amount.
Jobs after? What, like a dozen security guards and a couple IT people? Those things practically run themselves from what I understand.
Just pay that money directly to the construction workers and scrap the data centre.

I wonder if it would be suitable to adjust people’s grades each year on their final exam.
For example instead of having assignments worth 25%, attendance 10%, quizzes 20%, midterm 20%, and final 25%
Have it as assignments 75% and attendance as 25%
Then adjust all of that for by midterm and finals
Get 100% on your assignments due to chatgpt and show up to class every time despite not paying attention, if you get 50% on your quizzes, midterm, and final you get 50% overall, not 67.5%

Well, yes it wouldn’t heat it a “little bit” at the source but once added back into the system the average increase would probably be a “little bit”.

I just bought a house which has a pump and water line for garden hoses and irrigation
I have no idea where the water is coming from
The house has a well, but the irrigation system is completely separate and has a pipe running somewhere that I have no idea about.

Honestly question though …
Does a data centre actually pollute or dirty the water when used to cool it’s stuff?
Could it not just take the water, run it through the system, heat the water a little bit to cool the stuff it needs, then run the water back into the city lines which might even save people a few cents on the water heating bills?

I go for a conference almost every year for work. Skipped last year, this year its in Canada (1 out of every 5 years) so I got a two for one.

I’ve been summoned twice in the past 7 years and neither time did I actually even get to the point where they interview to decide if I would have been a juror.
First time I got summons was like a month after I moved to a different city for work and I let them know and they said okay you don’t need to come.
Second was like last year and I accepted the summons but then got a notification that I was no longer needed as the trial wouldn’t happen. I assume plea deal or something.

I live on West coast so I think we do actually import a lot of gas from washington

It’s kind of surprising to me that fuel prices in the US seem to have been affected the most by it.
I’m above the border and gas was typically $1.30 and now it’s closer to $1.90-$2.00
Still a big increase but no where near double like some places in the US

Does it matter if the coo knows or not? If they do something stupid and get stopped, the cop will realize and fine them for not being registered.
You can also drive around in a car without a license and a cop would never know unless you drove stupidly and they pulled you over.

Unfortunately it’s unlikely a court will fine them based on a single person generating thousands of images. And it’s also unlikely they will fine them based on many people generating a few each, as it would be a slow and arduous process. I just can’t see it happening in reality.

I think hidden cameras are already illegal in some places, no?
Like you can’t film in a bathroom, so wouldn’t they be required to take these glasses off before walking in?
Just expand that so no secret cameras can be used, or.cameras disguised as every day objects like pens and glasses.

Any company using AI support is absolutely fucked in the head imo. It’s absolute dogshit.
I had a phone company where I had to call to add a new sim to my account because my previous phone was stolen and the fucking AI says “we have sent you a link via text or how to add a sim. Thank you, good bye.” And it fucking hung up on me.
I didn’t have the phone to get the text because it had been stolen!
If it will eventually be possible to travel to a new planet or mine other planets and asteroids for materials instead of destroying our own planet, than absolutely it’s worth it.
If that’s all a pipe dream than space exploration is really just a waste of money.

I can see the purpose when done correctly but that would mean maybe a 3-5 year protection to give you a headstart on the competition not 20+ years of monopoly and stagnation.

"We are the only Country in the World STUPID enough to allow “Birthright”…
Don’t most countries allow birthright citizenship?

Most trading these days is probably just AI and algorithms. They see a positive headline and starts making buys or selling stuff if it’s negative. It’s all a money printing machine for the rich and a casino for the poor.

I literally feel this as more of a feature than a bug.
Can we please keep it?
That seems like a giant waste of battery/fuel.
