I’m by no means an apple fan boy (I only have an air) but the apple m processors are getting faster every gen. My m1 air is fast, has a nice design, great battery life, nice screen, etc. idk what else I would want in a laptop. Obviously not a cheap but it should last me a lot longer than whatever pc I would have gotten for half the price.

I don’t follow the laptop industry closely though so maybe I’m being ripped off without realizing it?

Even mild solutions get shouted down. In Canada we have a carbon tax that mostly ends up getting returned to Canadians in the form of a rebate. Reportedly 80% of Canadians receive more from the rebate than they spend on the tax.

The conservative party have managed to politicize the tax and seem poised to win the next election, with “scrap the tax” being a big part of their platform. We have a province literally going rogue and refusing to pay the tax, causing our tax agency to garnish them essentially.

Shit is fucking wild. All over a marginal tax that benefits poor people and punishes the heaviest polluters. People are so fucking stupid and selfish it drives me fucking nuts.

It’s just my opinion. A world class city imo should have excellent public transportation, cycling infrastructure, parks and public gathering spaces, and traffic calmed commercial districs. Basically a world class city should have a lot of things worth visiting and infrastructure that lets you visit those places easily and comfortably without relying on a car.

No north american city meets those standards in the way that some european cities do.
