I am truly sorry for the American people that have to live with this idiot as their president. Trump has shown again and again how little he even cares about anyones life and welfare but his own. I hope the next administration can stop the spread of fascism in the USA but I truly have no faith in a non extreme regime holding power

This is actually a good thing for the wrong reasons.
The FDA royally fucked thousands of small businesses by making everything related to vaping, including wire and batteries, a tobacco product. Then they required that every single SKU a manufacturer has go through the PMTA process, costing between $250k-2m per SKU with no guarantee of approval. One eliquid flavor could have 6+ different SKUs because of different nicotine strengths.
This effectively killed legitimate domestic eliquid and hardware production, as well as killing open systems, which is a large part of the reason sketchy disposables were able to dominate the market.
The fact is that vaping is 95% safer than smoking, and nicotine on its own is about as harmful as caffeine. Every study that has shown scary stuff in vapes has wildly flawed methodology.
The real reason for the FDA crackdown was that vaping was starting to cause a massive drop in tobacco tax revenue, much of which had already been pre-allocated. That’s the reason why there was a ton of states trying to impose insane taxes on it, and they suddenly stopped after the FDA restrictions.
I agree with everything you said and wonder if killing the industry full of small businesses was the plan all along considering it was Trump’s FDA that introduced the PMTA in the first place. I could see them wanting to kill the industry so these massive corps would be the only ones left standing when they revived the market years later.
The irony is that it probably would have been cheaper for Big T to just develop a superior product. They definitely have the R&D budget.
Agreed. I stopped vaping a few years ago but the rhetoric around candy/fruit flavors was already starting. It was insane to listen to it like kids are the only things on the planet that enjoyed those flavors 🙄
