    They haven’t tried to curb illegal water use, and it didn’t work…

    Most of the water is wasted in inefficient and wasteful irrigation of plants that simply do not belong in the desert. But growing alfalfa for export is obviously more important than households having access to water.

    Just wait until the law is updated to give water priority to AI data centres.

    The water rights over the Colorado are extremely messed up. The water flow was apportioned when the river was at an abnormally high level even for the time, and hasn’t been sustainable in my lifetime even if it sort of worked. And droughts are magnifying the terrible traditional approach Expect more resource-based strife and conflict as climate change forces restrictions
